Amberstar calmly padded into the clearing, with Winterpaw right beside her. Today Amberstar would be teaching her apprentice how to hunt. She parted her jaws and immediatly scented rabbit, the most commonly found prey in Windclan territory. Perfect, she thought to herself. Amberstar dropped into the hunters crouch, keeping Winterpaw from following her as he watched. She slowly stalked up near the bramble thickets, her gaze fixed intently on the delicious smelling prey. Suddenly, she pounced on the rabbit as quick as light, and finished it off with a bite to the neck. Amberstar picked up her prey in her jaws and brought it back to her apprentice. She scented a mouse, and dropped into the hunter's crouch again. Only this time, she was motioning with her tail for Winterpaw to do exactly as she was doing. She paused and waited for her apprentice to follow her.

Winterpaw had watched as Amberstar stalked the rabbit, figuring that they would be practicing hunting today. Winterpaw had a better scent than most cats, as when one sence is taken away, all the others are enhanced. She took a quick sniff at the dead rabbit to memorize its scent for when she was hunting, than fell into the same crouch that Amberstar was doing, watching her mentor.

Amberstar began to slowly creep up on the prey, her paws very lightly touching the ground. She motioned to her paws, saying that your feet should be very light on the ground when catching mice. As Amberstar neared the mouse, she noticed a plump vole in midst of the brambles in front of Winterpaw. Amberstar motioned her tail for Winterpaw to catch it. Finally, Amberstar batted her paw fiercly on the mouse, killing it with a snap in the neck. She paused to see what Winterpaw was going to do.

Winterpaw sniffed the air and caught the scent of something she had eaten before, she couldn't identify it. She knew is wasn't rabbit but it was something and it was close infront of her. She figured that Amberstar was stalking another bit of prey and learned that she was right when she saw Amberstar pounce and kill the mouse. Guessing that Amberstar wanted her to do the same to what ever animal was infront of her, she slowly crept foreward, trying to be light on her paws. She pinpointed the scent, than lept foreward, trying to catch the vole. The vole darted away before she landed on it however.

Amberstar nodded her head and smiled. That was pretty good for a first try, she thought to herself. Amberstar swiped her tail across the dissapointed cat's muzzle, then turned and parted her jaws, scenting a rabbit. It'll be a little harder...but she can handle it, she thought nervously to herself. She pointed her tail at the rabbit in front of Winterpaw, and motioned her tail for her to catch it.

Winterpaw thought she caught a scent like rabbit, but she wasn't sure where it was coming from until Amberstar pointed with her tail. Winterpaw settled into a crouch again, trying to be lighter on her feet. Rabbits have big ears, therefore they hear you coming, she thought. So silent is the best approach. How am I supposed to know when I'm being silent? Winterpaw slowly crept forward, spying the brown fur and large ears of a rabbit. She paused, took aim, than pounced. The rabbit noticed her at the last moment, but Winterpaw had landed on it and bit its neck. She picked up her prey and carried it back to Amberstar, her tail errect.

Amberstar's eyes gleamed proudly at her apprentice. She gave her a nod of approval, then bent down to pick up her piece of prey. She motioned for Winterpaw to take hers too, and they both ventured deep into the clearing in search of more prey.

Winterpaw picked up hers and followed Amberstar.
((OOC: Gah, muse-less-ness.))

ooc;; Meh, its okay. My posts have been getting museless-er every time ><
Amberstar led her apprentice to a sandy clearing. The strong winds matted her fur. Well, at least there'll be lots of prey today, she thought to herself. She parted her jaws and quickly scented a mixture of mouse and rabbit. She looked over at her apprentice and paused to see if she was scenting anything.
ooc;; Whoa, I just had an idea... maybe, we could have a group of Thunderclanners in the camp, and they start to attack and if Winterpaw is a good fighter, Amberstar will make her into a warrior. Should we do that? We would need a couple of Thunderclanners though...

Winterpaw stood still as the wind brought a myriad of scents to her nose. She could tell that there was rabbit, that was the dominant one, and there were undertones of mouse. She tried to focus on one scent, the most recent. It was a rabbit smell.

A calico she-cat prowled through the undergrowth. Her sences intent on the rabbit only now tail-lengths away from her. There it sat, nibbling on some grass. Marblepaw readied herself, then pounced. She landed a little ways away and alereted the rabbit. Luckily she was quick on her feet and chased the rabbit down, and killed the little thing. It wasn't until then that she relized that Amberstar and Winterpaw were besides her. Marblepaw jumpped and her eyes grew wide. "Oh, hey! she meowed, still startled.
ooc: Sorry to interupt your training ^^ But Marblepaw's bored, and if your going to have a battle, you might want more cats to help hmm? =)

Winterpaw felt the vibrations of Marblepaw's paw steps through the earth as the other apprentice approached. She turned to look at Marblepaw. She waved her tail slightly in greeting.

Winterpaw looked curiously at Marblepaw, silently asking the same thing as Amberstar.

Marblepaw kneeded slwoly on the ground. "Hello Winterpaw, Amberstar," she looked down at her paws, knowing she probably shouldn't be this far out of camp without her mentor. "I was just doing some hunting. You know, the Clan must be feed." Marblepaw looked up and tried to smile, though it was obvious she was nervous around Amberstar. Marblepaw felt ashmaed that her mother was the medicine cat, being that it was forbidden.
