ooc: PALEY WILL SAVE THE DAY: Mystic, post in her den, we need cometflash and her to talk -grins evily-
Palestar was sitting calmly all this time, having an indifferent air to the Twilightclanners. Let them be traitors, at least who was left in her clan was still loyal. She saw that the three new leaders obviously would not start, inexperience and nerves stilled them. But to look at Patchstar, who had been up here just as much as her, understood his silence, and sighed. He had nothing to do with the clan, and neither would she: if they dared to try and attack, she would glady fight back declaring war. She flicked her ear, and glared at Lostlove to hold her tongue before standing up and motioning to all the cats, grimacing openly as she glared over Twilightclan. She then cleared her throat, and twitched her tail irratibly. " Welcome all to the Gathering. I would like to congragulate Brookstar and Amberstar to their new positions as leaders, first and formost." she pointedly left out Ospreytalon: he was technically not a new leader in Starclan's eyes: his name did not yet end with a -star, and would not aknowledge him as an equal until he did. " I know tensions are high, and we all have our disagreements, but every cat from 6 to 600 moons knows that here, there shall be no fighting. But we do need to continue this gathering: it has been postponed as some have pointed out. Twlightclan is here, but I do not know if Ospreytalon is to speak here or not: In Starclan's eyes, he is not a leader, so I shall not acknowledge him as one til I have seen him return from the moonstone bearing 9 lives. ( With this, she looked coldly to the Twlightclan leader, and turned quickly to the crowd with renewed vigor.) But as to no longer prolong this gathering, I have to say that Thunderclan is growing very strong, we expect kits, and the prey runs better than ever. Our stream runs high once more, and there has only been a few cats that have left their home, to not return. We have many new apprentices and warriors, and our clan will not be underestimated. May we all get through these hard times with our senses and wits with us when life becomes normal again." she said boldly, and decidedly, showing she was not joking and was stone solid on her words. The last sentence sort of slipped out, but she was thinking it all the same, it would be lucky if half the cats here already still had those two virtues with them still. She gazed at the two new leaders, her quick yellow eyes passing quickly over Ospreytalon, and then kept her gaze locked on Patchstar, a twinkle showing that she wanted him to start next. Her heart thumped, and raged inside her. Palestar's old graying, but wise head and fur took the few graceful steps back, and sat down beside Patchstar once more, rigid and tail wrapping around paw. Her graceful fur tingled, and she looked icy cool. Thunderclan would stay strong. Even if a clan of traitors threatened their gathering, she would show that they would not tolerate anything more.
Shadepool was relieved as Palestar spoke. He nodded swiftly at her speech and felt calmer. He saw she was raging to burst out yelling, but did not. He smiled at her control. His eyes then roved towards his kits, sighing.
Shadeypaw yawned, and then sat up straight, listening to Palestar. She nodded, hissing slowly as she agreed with her.
Orchidpaw was sighing, and shaking his head. Why couldn't they all just... get along and forget these... complications. He looked to Inkheart anxiously for help.
Stripedfoot felt outraged, but kept his tongue unwillingly. How dare she not acknowledge his leader? He stood up, tail waving, but did not say anything. Ospreytalon would only glare at him if he did, and sat down hastily. His mind quickly registered that Palestar was awfully bold to say these things, infront of all these Twilightclanners....

Patiently waiting until Palestar was finished speaking, Osprey then opened his mouth to say, "Fair enough, Palestar. It is true I have not made my journey to the Moonstone, but I'm planning to do so soon. However, I am still in charge of my Clan, so I will tell what has happened. "We've all settled nicely in our home, and it's very nice for us. The prey is plentiful, and we've had our first litter of kits born. Trust me when I say, we are no weaklings, nor are we traitors, as you all think. Let that settle the arguements, though I know many of you would like nothing more right now than to kill me right now. Think what you may, and let it stay between your ears." With his conclusion, Ospreytalon sat back down, sitting proud and tall amongst the most powerful living beings in the forest.

Flame: Frozen didn't start the gathering, because her charrie doesn't want to start it, refusing to converse with twilightclan - Palestar's just as headstrong as Patchstar, but she knew he wouldn't do it (he wants to leave, but he doesn't want Ospreytalon to convince or tell the other clans something to put SC at fault and other clans at advantage) and the other 3 cats were all spic-n-span new, so they were nervous, and wouldn't exactly know how to begin the gathering. I know the rpers know how to, but their charries are so far, inexperienced in that area. ^^ But I've begun the gathering before, so I took the plunge, I was the option left...

OOC; I know. Frozen informed me of that particular fact.
Lionpaw listened to Palestar speak, glad that someone had decided to start the Gathering. He listened, though knowing that they would never report anything weak in their Clan. His eyes narrowed slightly when Ospreytalon began to speak, but listened still. It never hurt to know your enemies.

ooc: -cough- sorry frozen ^^ I get gender confused, and put his, because Patchy is a guy.... ahem -continues to rp-
Palestar's neck fur rose, flicking an annoyed ear at Ospreytalon, barely able to suppress her hiss. Why did he have to pipe up, when Patchstar should've gone? But she ignored it, and was positive that what he said wouldn't happen. Starclan wouldn't give him nine lives, right? Her pale, yellow eyes and pale, dark gray fur now turning silver from the muzzle down quivered as she sighed, and watched Ospreytalon sit down. She shifted into a more comfortable position, calmly waiting for another cat to speak.
Stripedfoot was satisfied with his leader. He sat down again, and licked a paw, smirking.
Shadepool yawned, and flicked an ear twiddling his paws, and waiting for the gathering to be over, so he could quickly speak with his love... maybe in private quickly before departing.. his hopes were smashed though, she seemed not to be present -coughMYSTICcough-. His glossy coat twitched momentarily, and his tail thumped a quick beat.

Brookstar didn't know if he should go next or not but he guessed it was his turn, "Riverclan is doing well. We are still sad about Rainstar's death, but it doesn't weaken us," he added. "We have many new apprentices, and a new warrior, Ramblecloud." Brookestar finsihed.

OOC: Anyone can post at a Gathering as long as they were one of the cats assigned to go. Maybe next time your character can post. The leaders send out lists of the warriors and apprentices they have come.

Amberstar shot an annoyed glance at Ospreytalon, holding back the urge to claw his ears off right here, right now. She looked at the other leaders, and decided she would go next. Clearing her throat, she started her announcement.
"Thank you Palestar, for your warm welcome. If you have not yet heard, my name is Amberstar, and I am the new leader of Windclan. Because of a murderous traitor," she paused and shot an angry glance at Ebonyeyes. "We have lost the lives of our former leader, deputy, and medicine cat. This same traitor has also taken cats from our clan to Twilightclan. But don't get me wrong! Windclan still remains one of the strongest and most powerful clans in the forest, and nothing will ever change that. We have mourned over the loss of our beloved, but we are still strong. My new deputy, Windstripe, and our new medicine cat, Lilacflower, are two very strong and noble cats, as well as the rest of our clan. The cats taken to Twilightclan only consisted of merely 5 or 6, so we are not in any way weak. Prey is plentiful in camp, and many litters of kits have been born. Many, many apprentices have been made warriors, and many kits have been made apprentices," and with that, Amberstar sat back down, and awaited Patchstar's news.

Runningwhisker listened carefully to the leaders. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer, he thought.

With Amberstar's finishing remark Patchstar knew that he was the only remaining leader to give his news. Whether he would or not though was a different matter. It seemed that all of the Clans were boasting about how this loss of warriors and apprentices to the new Clan wasn't affecting them, and how they were apparently still strong. Patchstar knew that ShadowClan had been the worst affected by TwilightClan's rise, he was the ShadowClan leader, after all. And although he could have just repeated the other leaders 'Don't underestimate us.' speech, he wasn't going to.
The broad tom, his head tilted forwards and his eyes gazing at the rock beneath his paws paused for what seemed like a long time before speaking. The clouds seemed to swirl violently above the clearing, yet never passing in front of the moon. Suddenly, Patchstar started to speak, "What happens in ShadowClan..."
He took a short breath and raised his head, his eyes glimmering menicingly.
"...is none of your concern."
Without caring for further words in this Gathering, Patchstar leaped down from the Great Rock in one clean jump. He gathered himself and exited the clearing swiftly, disappearing into the shadows of his own territory.
Stormwind and Skippaw exchanged confused glances but followed their leader relentlessly.

Runningwhisker grinned. That was like it. Let them tell all about their troubles. They didn't need to know about ShadowClan's. Runningwhisker stood and took off into the forest after Patchstar.
Lionpaw biinked, confused. "I thought the leaders were required to say what was happening in their Clans,' he muttered aloud.

Lightpelt tilted her head in confusion. But she didn't know why she was doing this. It was obvious that Shadowclan, for once in their lives, didn't want to speak about their clan seeing as they were faced with the fact that they actually were, in the slightest way, weak. Usually whenever Shadowclan had some sort of weakness, they would speak of it as if it were nothing. Shadowclan has always proved themselves strong, and they weren't going to let anyone tell them otherwise. But now, for one in their lives, they couldn't prove they were all strong. Shadowclan was one of the most affected clans because of Twilightclan. Amberstar simply stared at Patchstar's retreat. She knew that is was bad to get into a fight at a Gathering, but she wasn't quite sure if not giving clan news was even half as bad. She shot Palestar a questioning look. OOC; Sorry to be hard on ya, Frozen! But you know Lightpelt's stubbornness
