It was a cold night, the moon shining above, the stars twinkling invitingly, spangled about the heavens. Spottedpelt stood, looking over the edge of the gorge. She loved coming here. The peaceful rush of water, the contrasts between the river and the land, it made her feel at peace. Her ears pricked up and she smelled mouse. Perfect time for a little hunting. she thought happily. She slowly stalked forward until she saw the mouse. It was standing near the edge of the gorge, chewing on a bit of grass. She was immediately filled with a fear of what could happen. Stop that, she oredered herself. It was years ago. You're more careful now. She banished the thoughts with a shake of her head, focussing on the mouse.
She slowly crept towards it, than sprang forward. At the moment her paws left the ground, she knew she had put to much power in the pounce. She tried to stop in mid air but tumbled off the edge of the gorge. Memories flickered through her mind as she hit the freezing water. The brambles tore at her fur but she was going to catch the mouse. She had to! Strange how the world repeats itself. The freezing water over her head. A body pushed her out. But there was no one to pull her out this time. Watching the body float away down the streem. Spottedpelt felt the water close over her head, knowing that she wouldn't survive this day. I'll see them all again when I join StarClan... A star seemed to wind into existance in the night sky...
((OOC: Yes, Spottedpelt is dead. I just wasn't good at keeping her active. Bleh.))
